How can we
go downstairs
Based on my personal experience, I recreated the experience of descending stairs with a visual impairment. In that moment, the sense of depth and spatial orientation disappears, as if the body is falling into a blurred world without boundaries. Within this uncertainty, it becomes impossible to tell where the next step should land.
When you open your eyes wide, all you see are blurred outlines.
When you try to make out the edges of things, everything seems flat tened, like paper cutouts pressed together.
Where is the last step?
Should you stop here, or keep going?
Down, down, down, when does it end?
Only the moment you fall feels real.
