This project centers on personal experiences, delving into the expression of individual lives. At times, we resemble parcels in transit—aware that we are moving toward the future, yet uncertain of our exact destination or when we will arrive.
I think of my little elephant doll, a companion that has been by my side for nearly a decade, journeying with me through five different cities. Elephants, symbols of memory and perpetual movement, inspired the heart of this project. I chose my baby elephant doll as the central figure and created a fictional, enigmatic map to wrap around it. To convey the raw essence of a courier's packaging, I incorporated newspaper and used silver spray paint to mimic the rugged texture of asphalt roads. By blending these two materials, the package becomes an extension of the city map, symbolizing the intersection of movement, memory, and urban exploration.
Where Should I Go?
I come from the past,
I pass through every city,
But never stay.
Through the winding roads
Of the city, I turn.
Left or right,
Then right again,
Or straight ahead?
I trace the marks of my journey,
But where is my destination?
