IF-OLYMPIC happen in AFRICA
The logo draws inspiration from the cracks between temple bricks. The shadows cast by sunlight shift over time, but what remains unchanged through the passage of time is the human spirit of moving forward and an enduring will.
The icon system is developed in two versions: monochrome and multicolor backgrounds. The monochrome version reinterprets the visual language of ancient Egyptian writing and mural forms through a modern, dynamic lens. It creates a clearer, more flexible graphic expression that can adapt across a wide range of applications while maintaining a strong and recognizable identity.
The multicolor version introduces a richer sense of atmosphere and variation. It allows the system to carry more visual energy, bringing depth, contrast, and rhythm into different contexts. Together, the two versions balance historical reference with contemporary clarity. One is restrained, adaptable, and refined. The other is vivid, expressive, and immersive. Stability and movement. Memory and transformation. Ancient source material reimagined for a living visual system.
The QRG is a concise overview of the core elements of the Cairo 2040 Olympic visual identity. It is designed to provide a clear and accessible summary of the system, including logo usage, typography, color palette, graphic elements, photography direction, and mascot applications. As a practical entry point to the brand, this guide helps maintain consistency across different media and contexts while allowing the identity to remain dynamic and adaptable. It serves as a fast and reliable tool for understanding the essential visual language of the project and for applying it with clarity, coherence, and confidence.
